Now that the holidays are over, I’ve finally found the time to get some reading done in my day. For a few years my Goodreads Reading Goal felt meetable and I finished my goals. However, for the past two years my goal has been stuck at 75 books. This year, I have again set it to 75 books, and will devote more time to making it stick. My hope is that now that I am also writing, I’ll be more on task with my reading.
I am also giving myself a lofty goal of reading the book, “It,” by Stephen King in 2018. I love the horror/sci-fi genres that King writes in. Although I enjoy his writing, I’ve only read two of his books. Namely, “The Shining,” and “Pet Sematary”. I have watched the 1990 mini-series, and the 2017 film based on the novel, and have read and watched reviews of both, that identify some of the differences between the films and book. I am both excited and nervous to tackle this book, and I hope that it lives up to its reputation!
I have several reviews to write of books that I finished at the end of 2017 and a few I’ve already finished this month, and a few library holds that I will need to tackle before beginning “It”. I may need to figure out a strategy to read other books at the same time I am reading “It” so that I can still make my goal of 75 books this year while finishing that book.
Whether it be a really long book, or a lot of books during a time period–how do you all tackle your reading goals?
