NOTE: I am an ARC reader/reviewer for this author.
So when I heard Anne Kemp was going to be part of the “Love On Thin Ice Series” I KNEW this was going to be right up my alley. Being as the NHL literally saved my life (a story for another time), and with all the smutty hockey books out, I was excited for a clean read that still dealt with hockey.
Willa is working her way up at work and gets asked to do a few pieces on a charity hockey team. Piece of cake! Until… Noah shows up. The one person she can’t STAND. His PR team blacklisted her years ago and she was finally getting somewhere in her work. How the heck is she going to deal with him AGAIN? When her boss asks her to do a piece just on Noah and his comeback, she can’t just say no and risk losing her job, not when her mom really needs her to step up and help run the family business before the bank forcloses on it.
Noah was the resident bad boy - and while that was fun for a while, he realized his mistakes and got help, turned his life around, and is gettin back into hockey. He remembers Willa… but had no clue how much their last meeting affected her. He doesn’t really remember much of it either, or what his management team did to her career after she kicked him off the photo shoot for being drunk. All he wants to do is make it up to her, but is she ready to let him do that? And how?
I loved how this book came together. I hadn’t read the rest of the series yet, but from what I understand they are stand alones but with characters that cross into other books. While reading I was picking out other characters that souunded interesting, so I’m hoping they are in the other 6 books. This is definiteyl a series I will continue to read, and I love that it’s multi author, so hopefully I can find a few new favorite authors to review and work with! I just love the closed door romance scene and how all the other authors are supportive of one another.
