I’ve been a bad book blogger. 😦 I had some stuff going on and keeping up with writing and even just reading pretty much came to a stop for a bit. But I’m back now, and I think my reading for 2019 is kicking off at a good pace.
I didn’t hit last year’s goal of 75 books. I fell about 15 books short. But I’m refusing to lower my goal. So this year I’m trying for 75 books again. Hopefully, I make it–fingers crossed!
I have a bunch of draft posts I didn’t finish from last year so my main goals for the blog right now are to finish those up and post them so that you can read the posts of books I’m reading now. I am also hoping to expand past reviews this year, but we’ll see how that goes. After how I pretty much abandoned the blog last year I don’t want to overwhelm myself with goals that don’t come to fruition.
Anyways, I hope this finds all of you readers well and as always, Happy Reading. 🙂
Now that the holidays are over, I’ve finally found the time to get some reading done in my day. For a few years my Goodreads Reading Goal felt meetable and I finished my goals. However, for the past two years my goal has been stuck at 75 books. This year, I have again set it to 75 books, and will devote more time to making it stick. My hope is that now that I am also writing, I’ll be more on task with my reading.
I am also giving myself a lofty goal of reading the book, “It,” by Stephen King in 2018. I love the horror/sci-fi genres that King writes in. Although I enjoy his writing, I’ve only read two of his books. Namely, “The Shining,” and “Pet Sematary”. I have watched the 1990 mini-series, and the 2017 film based on the novel, and have read and watched reviews of both, that identify some of the differences between the films and book. I am both excited and nervous to tackle this book, and I hope that it lives up to its reputation!
I have several reviews to write of books that I finished at the end of 2017 and a few I’ve already finished this month, and a few library holds that I will need to tackle before beginning “It”. I may need to figure out a strategy to read other books at the same time I am reading “It” so that I can still make my goal of 75 books this year while finishing that book.
Whether it be a really long book, or a lot of books during a time period–how do you all tackle your reading goals?
This is my first post on here and I want to tell you all a little about myself and why I am here. My name is Brittney and I am a librarian in New England and I love to read. I had another blog doing book reviews, but stopped when I got wrapped up in my second master’s degree and getting married.
Now–I am finally back and decided to start fresh since so much time has passed. My goal is to put up book reviews every couple weeks. I read pretty much everything–fiction and nonfiction alike. I will admit my To-Be-Read (TBR) pile is a mile high so although I will aim to review some newer books too, not all of my reviews will be of new books. Although most of my posts will be book reviews, I will occasionally touch upon other subjects.
I hope to connect with other librarians, bloggers, and anybody interested in reading. Please be patient while I discover the blogging features available to me. I appreciate your feedback and hope to receive book requests that you would like me to review.
Happy reading 🙂
